Race
to Read Rules
Do
you like a challenge? Do you like prizes? Here
is a race that anyone can win:
the Jordan Race to Read "Blast from the Past" (READ books from the 20th Century) begins Monday,
To start:
- Set a goal. Decide how many books you will read by March 17th.
- Sign a Race to Read pledge in the library and pick up your record sheet.
- START READING!
To score:
- You earn a LOTTERY ticket for each book you
read during the Race. For the best odds at winning
unique prizes,
read lots of books. The drawing will happen at
the end of the race.
- Return your completed Race Record sheet, signed
by your parent, to the library by March 17th.
- If you meet your goal, you receive a PRIZE.
- There is an additional CHALLENGE PRIZE if you
read five books from five different decades.
Race
rules:
- Each book you read for the Race to Read must be new to you.
- You may not count books that you read before you pledged.
- You may not count books that are required reading in your grade.
(Check with
a librarian or teacher if you are not sure.)
- Books that you listen to on tape count for the Race
- Ask for help or suggestions at the library
