Mr. Brigham studied Trumpet and Jazz Performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts from 1980 until 1984. He received his Bachelor's degree and California teaching Credential from San Jose State University. He plays the trumpet professionally in several local jazz groups including the Mike Cohen Sextet and Musicians Warehouse Big Band. Every summer for the past 21 years, he taught jazz theory and improvisation at the Stanford Jazz Workshop.

A longtime resident of Palo Alto, he attended Nixon Elementary, Terman Junior High and Gunn High Schools. His professional association with the PAUSD began when he started as an elementary school instrumental music aid in 1987. He enjoys teaching the Jordan bands with Vivian Boudreaux as they enter their twelfth year of team-teaching.

Currently, he lives in Redwood City with his wife Beth and their two children Nathaniel, age 6, and Nicole, age 5 who are students at Barron Park Elementary School. They have two cats, Artemis and Catarinka and a very cool treehouse that he built.
