Hello, my name is Joleen Roach, and I am the eighth grade resource specialist. This is my eleventh year teaching and my ninth year here at Jordan. I developed a program here at Jordan called the Center for Academic Success, and ran the program for the past seven years. I am also the Culture Club sponsor, and an avid advocate for kids. I love being a teacher.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University at Northridge. I received my teaching credential and Masters of Arts Education at San Jose State University. My thesis explored the use of technology in special education.

I have been married for almost two years to Hal Roach, the Industrial Technology teacher here at Jordan. We have recently bought a house in Palo Alto, and I now currently have my three pets, Frances, a Netherlands Dwarf rabbit who sometimes lives in the classroom, and our 'mutt' cat, Stubby. In November Hal and I picked up our new puppy, an American Water Spaniel, a great hunting dog. We will be getting him a friend (another puppy to keep him company) soon.

In my free time I like to go to the movies and hang out with my family and teacher friends. I also teach Sunday school at my church in San Jose.
