Keith Haring is a modern artist. He paints about what he believes in, such as curing Aids. He uses many bright colors but he also paints black and white pictures and murals. Keith Haring's paintings contain a lot of movement. Almost all of the fiqures that he draws are moving or creating an action. Haring uses very thick lines. He does this to make a his messages bold and stand out. Keith uses a lot of round shapes and very simple figures to make his pictures clear. The shapes resemble humans and animals that are changed or morphed. Keith Haring makes his paintings with dark value because of the dark lines. The texture of his paintings are very smooth. Haring fills the his painting with many figures so there is rarely any negative space in the paintings. Keith spaces figures evenly so his paintings are generally well balanced. Keith uses a lot of contrasting colors to make his figures stand out.
