I have often
seen Sieve of Erothosthenes, by Mark di Suvero, but I never knew anything about it. I always
loved this piece because of its bright illuminating color. This piece also
caught my attention because of the large amount of negative space. It is also
very interesting how the light falls on the red and makes a large variety
of reds. The texture of the sculpture was very smooth and the edges of the sculpture
were very clean and crisp. This sculpture also drew my attention
to it because of its very large mass. I am not quite sure of its mass but
I am sure that it is very large. I think that the movement of your eye
starts at the top of the sculpture because there is a circular piece that
is a different color than all the rest. This is my favorite piece of sculpture
in the Stanford Sculpture Collection. I find every element of this sculpture
interesting and easy to look at. |
