| Lee Kelly is the artist who created the Stainless Garden. He has made many beautiful pieces with steel, such as sculptures and archways for gardens. There is one arch that he built to make sound, a kind of "ethereal music" when the wind blows through it that was inspired by ancient Mayan architecture. Lee Kelly is a devoted rock climber and he recently climbed a18,000-foot peak. Kelly states that traveling inspires his art. You can see the remnants of ruins and old temples in his works. Kelly even studied architecture for a time at Portland State University. The results are clearly visible in his art. He used to be a painter before he turned to sculpture and even today he may use some paint to brighten his sculptures. | |||
