My Personal Reaction

We studied a sculpture called Jean d'Aire. He was a brave man who saved his city. It is a bronze sculpture of a man's face looking down. We think the reason that his face is looking down is because he is looking at his city. We also think he looks sad or scared because he is going to die for his city. The reason he is going to die is that he sacrificed his body with 5 other men for his city so it could be saved. This sculpture is interesting because right befor this man is going to die the queen begged and pleaded for the burghers lives to be saved.
