Presumed Self- Portrait

This painting is a self-portrait of Leonardo.  As you can tell he painted himself.  The first thing I notice was the light.  The light was upon his face, and was extremely bright. The movement seems to circulate his face.  There is balance and harmony.  The face shows repetition because you see similar shading under the two eyes and the nose.  The elements are blended together which creates harmony.  This picture looks somewhat like the Mona Lisa, exept it is an older version.  They have the same facial expression.  The color here seems to be plain.  The hair has repetition of the same lines as well.  Now you have an ideal picture in your mind of Leonardo.
