| I have three pieces of art in my personal museum.
"Gates of Paradise," "Gates of Hell," and "Women Encircled by the Flight
of a Bird." In all of these pieces there are many shapes confined
in an rectangular area. The "Gates of Paradise" and The "Gates of
Hell" are similar because one has images of what it might look like in
heaven, and the other of what it is like in hell. One is the result
of being good and the other is the result of being bad. Miro’s painting
of a "Women Encircled by the Flight of a Bird" has many shapes as the two
other pieces but everything is abstract. It would be interesting
to see how Miro would paint an abstract "Gates of Hell". |
