Water Lilies by Claude Monet
Claude Monet’s "Water Lilies" are  calm and peaceful. The choices of cool colors of the painting contribute to this calm feeling. The painting is very balanced.  The bright water lilies are a contrast to the dark pond.  Movement throughout the painting  is very interesting.  You move around the painting starting in the center and then you look outwards. There is no real line because the artist wanted you to see everything at once. The style of this picture is impressionistic because flowers are real, but Monet painted them             unfocussed so you can find the deep meaning of the calm painting. This picture takes you to a relaxed world and that’s why we would like to be in this picture.
