Dancing

by Alfred Gockel

There are a few reasons why I like this painting.  When you look closely at it, you can see that it is abstract, that the people aren't real.  Even though there are no people dancing, I can feel the emotions.  It looks to me like a victory dance.  The lines in this painting are all smooth and curving, making it feel more relaxing.  There isn't very much color in it.  The white all around the dancers keeps it from having hard corners.  The only colors used were orange, green, red, blue, and black.  In all, this is a beautiful, gentle, painting.
