PROJECT PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION
Students, individually and in teams, will develop project ideas, pitch them to the class, and create a specific project plan complete with estimated completion dates. Students will work toward project completion and launch, setting up weekly goals.

EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT
Both individual and team projects will be evaluated based on an agreed upon rubric. The same set of descriptors will be used throughout the term to focus on certain web design principles. Click here to see the Assessment Rubric

Students will complete:

INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS
After preliminary instruction, students will design their own individual projects to develop during the course of the term. Students will "pitch" their ideas to the group for feedback and suggestions. Both peer and teacher review will be essential to this process.

TEAM PROJECTS
Throughout the course, students will work with one or more partners to create a website with multiple pages and functions. This project will be big enough to warrant a team effort.

SCHOOL SERVICE
Students will be involved in two efforts to help the school site with web design issues. First, each student will be assigned to one or more staff members as consultants on web-related work. Second, students will share the responsibility of developing the Student Resource section of the Jordan website.

ONLINE JOURNALS
Class participants (including the instructor) will be able to follow each other's progress--both successes and problems--through monthly online journals.
