The Internet offers a goldmine of opportunity for learning communities in research, communication, publication, and design. This Web Page Design course will first be teacher instructive and then allow students full range to explore a variety of options as they create their web pages. To this end, the class is based on the following guiding principals:

 

 

The class:

  is as completely web-based as the instructor has the time, imagination, and resources to make it

  is project-based, with multiple interests being explored simultaneously

  relies on self-motivation and self-direction to determine projects

  includes a school service component

  continually evaluates progress and shares new knowledge

  realizes the importance of the visual elements in design

  will become teachers of others when appropriate

  seeks to make real world connections
