Educational Background I am a product of the PAUSD system, graduating from Paly in 1983. I then attended UC Santa Cruz and received a BA degree in 1987. During my third year at the university, I traveled abroad and studied Spanish in Salamanca, Spain. After graduating from UCSC, I moved to San Francisco and attended San Francisco State University, receiving my Multiple Subjects and Special Education credentials and a Resource Specialist certificate. Teaching Experience My first paid teaching expreience was teaching summer school in San Francisco. The class was cnsidered an LH/CH first through third grade class. That fall I was hired by the Newark Unified School District and taught at the high school as a Resource Specialist for one year. I then taught a Special Day Class at one of the elementary schools for another year, and finally settled into a Resource Specialist position at the same elementary school for three years. Due to my strong ties to Palo Alto, I chose to continue my teaching career at Jordan Middle School, beginning in the fall of 1996. I have been functioning as a Resource Specialist at Jordan ever since. Personal Information I grew up in Palo Alto with my parents and two older sisters. Except for attending 7th grade in Hawaii, I have lived in the Bay Area my entire life. I have traveled to various states, beginning at the age of 4 months, and have traveled to Europe twice. I currently live across the bay in Newark with my daughter, dog and two cats ... oh, and my daughter's hermit crab. I spend my non-teaching time hanging out with my daughter and pets, work on home and garden projects, and hang out with my friends and family.
