This is an intermediate middle school elective course focused on further refining skills in the visual arts. Prerequisite is Art 1A or the permission of the instructor. During the course students develop more in-depth knowledge of materials and skills that will enhance their visual expression. Projects are typically more complex, longer, and more challenging.
This course covers a variety of two and three dimensional art experiences with emphasis upon technique, expression, historical and cultural influences. The continued exploration of the elements of art and principles of design will serve as a foundation for the lessons. Students reflect both verbally and in written form about their work and the art work of others.
